Hello,

I got no answer to my question about Patrol Agent running on hosts in
the DMZ. I will re-formulate my question to be less restrictive.

I would have something, script, agent, etc., running on the host (mainly
Unix), gauging the resources (CPU, I/O etc.) and sending the result to a
centralised host (Unix too) behind the firewall without (much)
compromising the security of the DMZ and the security of my inner
network.

The facility to do it as an unattended service is a concern.
I know that security is an everyday task but I think that too
sophisticated tools have shorter lives than other. At least home-made
tools.

How do you monitor in a real-time manner the hosts of your DMZ?
What seems the most secure (or the less unsecured) way to do it.

Many thanks for all advise,
Gilles
