Is this one still an issue? Is it a catalyst 5000+ switch? If so, have you
considered ISL-Trunking the solaris port (24) on the switch, and obtaining
an ISL aware NIC for the solaris box? That would make the solaris box "Vlan
Aware"..., I heard you can DEFINATELY get an adapter from compaq or intel,
and I have seen vlan.sys in the driver files more than once from intel.....
Had similar issue, (although it was a Cisco 4500 router, and catalyst 5000
switch). Needed more interfaces for the router, but they cost 3000 a piece,
so ISL/Trunking was the solution.
