Hi,
compiling the free tripwire Linux-source (if there is any?) should
not be the problem. But looks as you won't be allowed to do such
nasty things. Please follow legal requirements which go with product!
IMHO, tripwire is to be purchased for HP-UX or Solaris.
Easy solution - you are not even allowed to try compilation. ;-)

product is free solely for Linux :-(
"AIDE (Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment) is a free replacement
for Tripwire. It does the same things as the semi-free Tripwire and
more." (Quoted from site below.)

Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 7
and others. :-)
Aide is licensed using GPL. :-) :-)

for the URL on AIDE :)
Didn't try any of them yet.
But will try AIDE soon...

FMPB there had have been a longer discussion about the usefulness of
the tripwire tool on this(?) list some time ago.
