Personally, it would depend if they add any value to the forum. If someone
is having a problem with a vendor product, say "how do I make a Cisco to
Cisco router tunnel?", sure it would be great if someone from Cisco could
step in and say "this is how you get it to work". Or if someone else asks
"what do you think of this product?", sure I think its ok if a rep steps in
with HONEST, TRUTHFUL AND SMALL comparisions, good and bad. If you have a
big report, insert a URL, don't insert a 100 page advertisement. I would
not want this group to turn into an endless series of megabyte
advertisements from the vendors. And if any of you vendors try, I WILL DO
MY BEST TO MAKE SURE YOUR PRODUCT IS *NOT* USED wherever I work and with
anyone I have contacts with.

In summary, I don't mind vendor activity as long as it adds value to the
group. I will HATE AND DESPISE any vendor that uses this mail list as a
spring board for their advertisements as much as I hated the original Cantor
and Segal Green Card spams.

try everyones software we would surf the net, download the trial versions,

products that are proven, we would ask in forums like this.
