A firewall can protect a tokenring LAN just as it protects an ethernet one.
The issues are not in the layer 2 (ie. the difference between tokenring and ethernet)
but at
layer 3 (the IP layer).
The only issues you need to think about are getting tokenring network cards instead of
ethernet.
