Hi, We are planning to install checkpoint firewall for our network, we have a n/w number x.x.x.x which is not subnetted. To install the firewall, i have to subnet my network to have 2 hosts numbers for the connectivity between my firewall and router and rest of the numbers for my network. Proposed Config as follows network (x.x.x.x)-----Firewall---- Router ----- Internet I wish to use vlsm for this purpose, i have a doubt regarding subnet mask to be given for 2 hosts b/w firewall and router (x.x.x.x/30) and and for the remaining n/w (x.x.x.x/24) while implementing subnetmask.
