I noticed that there has been some talk about ip addressing using a FW
with 3 nics.
I read the url link at 3com that someone sent out.
It was very informative.
I wanted to run this by everyone.
Here is the diagram
.1(dmz)
/
inet--------------xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(NAT ROUTER)
10.10.10.17------------------.18 (FW) .10--------------------.19(new
FW).65---------Internal LAN
>From (NAT Router) .17 to .19 on the new test firewall I am using
255.255.255.0.
.1 on the (new FW) and .65 are using 255.255.255.252 as a subnet.
This looks really confusing.
Basically my network is using 10.10.10.0 with a mask of 255.255.255.0
I want to insert my test (new FW) into my network using one nic
connected to the 10.10.10.0 network and one nic for the dmz and one for
the internal lan. What addressing scheme should I use???
Can all three nics have the same 255.255.255.0 mask and 10.10.10.0
network?????
This is not my final configuration. I am just experimenting trying to
understand my FW software. I want to replace the (FW) which's really
just a proxy server.
