well, i look like youu need more infos> I'm on a Suse6.4 Linuxbox, all the kernelsetups works fine (or it seem's to me when compare withe howtos), - Now, the hard works begins..;) We have a Cablemodem, to say, we can use the follow adress ip adresses: 62.0.70.1 - 253 <- IP's are possible to use them manualy 62.0.70.254 <- is the cablemodem 62.0.70.255 < is the broadcast 255.255.255.0 <- is the subnet - next, i used for my firewall: 62.0.70.1 - eth0 the internal ip of firewall: 192.168.1.0 - eth1 - ip masquerading works fine: 255.255.255.0 <- is the subnet 192.168.1.0/24 <- source 0.0.0.0/0 <- destination Any <- protocol eth0 <- masqdevice the clients take one of the ip: 192.168.1.1-255 and eth1 as gateway - well nextstep: I need now some different servers, some are completly hidden from outside (like ip masquerading). some other servers should be have some services for outside, like smb, pop, and more... some other servers should BE behind the firewall but nothing prodected (possible?yes i know*hmpf ?) And this with REAL IP's.. like usage of server ips behind the firewall like: 62.0.70.30 <- netbios 62.0.70.40 <- pop 62.0.70.50 <- hackable - What i tried out (because of misunderstanding of theme): is to create on virtual network adapter, like eth0:20 , i gave the IP 62.0.70.20, with the idea that maybe i can map it to one 192.168.1.x IP, well to say the outside ip 62.0.70.20 reply with ping, but it dosent map to the other host, yes i builded some rules to forward, but thats it i'm not sure of the working possiblitys.............?!?!! - NOW: How i can do it, any perfect answers ;) , solutions, ideas, or links ?* thanks 4all your offered time..... have nice's*olutions * ,) - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
