Not even close.

Marcus Ranum wrote a excellent White Paper way back when, which covered a
lot of the technical issues on why an organization should have a firewall,
not have a firewall, what is really going on..

I don't know the URL anymore, since Clark/Verio/Nippon is really strange..

<soapbox>

What completely boggles my mind is how people discuss
firewall evaluation and selection on this list.

"It's cheap"
"It's easy to install"
"It's turnkey - i didn't have to configure anything" (?!?!)
"It prints nice executive reports every week. I don't
 know what to do with them but they look real shiny and nice"
"It plugs nicely into my web site traffic monitor"
"It runs on my favourite OS"

Where did the
"How secure is it?" question go?!

(Yes, there _are_ differences!)

</soapbox>

Yeah I know, this is a huge flame bait. :-P
