ipchains

dear all,

i wish to know can i analyze the size of the packets entering my interface with ipchains...

also can i check wheather a packet is compressed or not...

what do we mean by stateful filtering and is it possible to do it through ipchains...

if not what are the other tools available for red hat 6.2 through which i can do the same...
