As others have noted, there were many improvements to SunScreen EFS 3.0
since 2.0. An even newer version, SunScreen 3.1, started shipping
this past Monday (06/05/2000). As a grain of salt to my post,
I work on the product.
3.0 introduced *supported* proxies, improved NAT (much more
intelligent, more powerful, and easier to configure), central
management technologies, time based rules, support for both
routing mode and stealth modes, much improved GUI, more
powerful and easier to use command line interface, web start
wizards installer, and more.
3.1 includes stealth High Availability, gigabit ethernet support,
ATM support for both classic and LANe, improved SNMP features,
trusted Solaris 7 and Solaris 8 support, improved documentation
and administration, and more.
SunScreen 3.1 Lite is available for free download to customers
with Solaris 8 on a support contract. http://www.sun.com/security
