Hello everyone,

I have setup an ftp server behind the firewall (on internal network), and
defined a rule that permits ftp requests on TCP/21 from the Internet to the
internal network. I can access this ftp server using explorer, DOS or Unix
clients - no problem. But, when I try to do the same using Netscape browser,
the request seems to time out. Firewall log says connecting to ftp host but
then I get message that says "ACL: drop". It looks like the request does
penetrate the firewall but rule database doesn't allow the connection to be
established. With explorer, I get "ACL:allow". I have tried different
netscape clients from different locations but same results.
On the netscape screen, I get the message "Current Directory is /" and on
the bottom of the screen, at the same time, it says "receiving FTP
directory". After searching for about two minutes, message on the bottom
says "document done", but on the main netscape screen nothing happens, still
displaying "current directory is /". I think the rule is setup properly as
it is working fine with explorer, DOS and Unix clients. Could it be a
configuration issue of Netscape browser.
Thanks in advance for your time and effort.

Happy Computing
Eessa
