Is the Cisco client the same IntraPort VPN Client from Compatible
Systems? If so, my understanding is that you also can't install it if
you are running NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 installed.

Texas A&M uses it to connect off campus users through the
firewall to the computer system. I usually have it running all day
long on my computer for access to the imap server and local telnet
and ftp.

I've encountered a couple of minor gotcha's.

The first is that if you unbind NetBIOS from the ethernet card, the
VPN Client reenables it! So after installing the VPN Client, you
have to go back and unbind it again and then test it to make sure
you got it right.

The second is that the VPN Client blocks all incoming traffic from
the IP addresses of the remote system that does not pass through
the tunnel. So, if you are on campus and need to access your
computer, you have to use the private IP address assigned by the
VPN Server.
