I have just recently begun to try to configure a firewall using slackware
linux 7.0 with an upgraded kernel to 2.2.16
I can get the proxy and gateway features to run as described in the
IP-Masquerading HOW-TO but when I add the lines in to try to forward the WWW
port I'm not having any luck. I know this might be a simple question and be
buried somewhere in the archives but I cannot find anything about it. Oh
yeah and token ring cards don't make it any easier LOL.
Here is a snippet from the rc.firewall file I made. The ipchains lines are
exactly as they are in the IP Masq HOW-TO. I'm forwarding between two
internal networks right now as I am only in the test phase.

ipmasqadm portfw -a -P tcp -L 10.115.65.55 80 -R 172.16.1.2 80
ipmasqadm portfw -a -P udp -L 10.115.65.55 80 -R 172.16.1.2 80

I put the UDP forwarding in jsut as a guess to see if it would help.

Also does anyone know why running ipchains -l takes so long to show any
output.

Mike
