Any dual homed non-proxy firewall must route packets. PIX wasn't
initially a Cisco product, so it doesn't come from the router stable, IOS
has been glued into it AFAICT- though I've never run one, so I'm not sure
how far they are in the evolutionary stage from the original
(PC-based?) product that Cisco purchased.
