>SonicWall is based on Checkpoint FW-1 code.

As soon as I saw this, I called a friend of mine who is an executive at
Checkpoint. The above statement is absolutely not true, but there is a
reason for the possible confusion.

According to my friend, Sonic Systems OEMs code from Ramp. Ramp has
recently announced a major OEM deal with Checkpoint that will see FW-1
code integrated with Ramps products (see
http://www.checkpoint.com/press/2000/ramp041700.html). At some point in
the future, the SonicWall will get the FW-1 code through it's
relationship with Ramp.

As it stands right now, however, the only relation that the SonicWall
and FW-1 have is that they both use stateful inspection.
