Hi,
before you make an upgrade from version 3.x to version 4.x you should perform a
backup.
I did the upgrade several times without problems, having 3.0 SP9 installed. This
means, not only 3.0b, but the latest SP for FW-1 3.x.
The upgrade itself is starting the 4.x installation. The software recognises the
earlier installation, stops the Firewall and asks the user if the old
configuration should be kept. Normally there are no problems (using SP9), but a
backup before the whole procedure should be done.
Hope it helps
Best regards
Matthias
