Hi, before you make an upgrade from version 3.x to version 4.x you should perform a backup. I did the upgrade several times without problems, having 3.0 SP9 installed. This means, not only 3.0b, but the latest SP for FW-1 3.x. The upgrade itself is starting the 4.x installation. The software recognises the earlier installation, stops the Firewall and asks the user if the old configuration should be kept. Normally there are no problems (using SP9), but a backup before the whole procedure should be done. Hope it helps Best regards Matthias Hemang Patel wrote: > Hi; > I am trying to upgrade a fw-1 v 3.0b build #3045 to v 4.0 on an existing > production NT firewall. > I am trying to minimize any impacts the upgrade my cause and was wondering > if the upgrade from v 3.0b to 4.0 is done by just runnng the v 4.0 > install/setup on top of it and alll the objects just get converted smoothly? > Do I need to upgrade v 3.0b to the latest checkpoint patches? > Any tips, comments or experiences are greatly appreciated. > TIA > regards, > Hemang Patel > > - > [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with > "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
