Certifications are a good indication that one can attend a class, absorb
the material and be able to choose the right answer within given
parameters. This topic has been covered before. Nothing beats hands-on,
real world experience dealing with situations that are outside the scope of
any certification program.. Of course, ISC has tried to rectify this
situation by slowly putting together subject matter testing within a given
operating system platform.

Attending vendor training will provide one full of sales type talk,
promises that their product is better than other vendor's products.. etc etc
