Dorothy Denning's _Advanced Cryptography_ should be on every Firewalls 
reader's bookshelf, although it's probably out of print.  It provides 
excellent summaries of seemingly all of the notable security models at the 
time (early 1980's) and Bell-LaPadula is one of them.

Of course, you might be interested in the original paper.  It, and an 
abstract, can be found at http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/history/.  
Look for "bell76.pdf".
