I have RooadRunner cable modem service and I use Linux and Win98, I
think I
have Win98 pretty tight against attacks but I would like to know more
about
setting up a personal firewall in linux or maybe just adjusting some
setting's or config files that would help. If any one can help I
have Suse
Linux 6.4 and am reletivaly new to linux so details would help.
Thanks for
any help
Kraven,
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, but teach a man to fish and
he eats for a lifetime. In the spirit of that quote here's some links
to get you started.
www.linux-firewall-tools.com (pretty good info if you dig)
www.linuxlinks.com (pay attention to the kernel and network links -
the latter has step by step how-to's)
BTW, more information is good. For instance are these two different
machines or do you simply want your Suse box to be a secure as you
feel that the Win98 box is? Anyway, good luck. Write back after
reading some.
