Question for all the security folks out where:
What are the best practices in content integrity
checking solutions?
The goal is to take a web server off line as soon as
the content on it is deemed to be compromised. This
solution should work with a content management
solution (Viennete).
I was thinking of a script that runs tripwire every
few minutes and shuts down the web server if content
is compromised.
Another solution would be to write a perl script that
would go through the url tree and calculate md5 of
each object and compare it with the database.
I would like the solution to have a minimal impact on
the www server.
Can anybody recommend a better solution?
Are there any free-ware or commercial tools that can
do the job better?
