We're not here to do your homework, but if you have any specific questions
on stuff that you need clarified I'm sure you'll be able to get some
(conflicting) points of view here. Out of interest, what is your
"recommended" product, and what sort of security policy / threat model did
you construct to derive the recommendation?
I'd love to see a coherent and comprehensive history of firewall
development - there's so much argument about the very meaning of the terms
involved that I've never really been able to sort out the assertions of the
various pioneers into a chronology. If you come up with something good I (at
least) would be interested in reading it through.
OBTW: Watch out in these waters. There are HUNGRY PIRANHAS about. (I'm
feeling outnumbered! Maybe I should change my name to Starfish or Aquaboy or
something to fit in...)
