there are quite a few other calculations based on the (known) laws of
physics, and all show that it is imposible to brute force such big keys
(afaik our sun has not the power to serve a computer beeing able to
brute-force 2048bits RSA, well, i have to look this up in Applied Crypto if
anybody cares :)

Of course this does not mean that faster methods can be available. But the
speed of computers is here totally irrelevant.
