Qualys is a Vulnerability scanning engine (still has room to improved), has
been usually bundled in with service offerings from high end network and
security services companies, such that the Qualys scanning engine checks
for about 500 known vulnerabilities and possibly provide a baseline and
change reports.
Very similiar to the Retina Scanner available Eeye and HackerShield from
BindView.
It still requires a knowledgable person to parse through the
vulnerabilities discovered and identifying additional exploits the scanning
engine doesn't.
But there is a whole plus and minus of online scanning versus a full blown
security assessment.
