Depends on the sniffer. A switch only shows the port it's connected to, that's why
it's a switch and not a hub. If your switch allows it, you can mirror the port(s)
that you want to monitor so that the traffic is also sent to your sniffer's port.
Fluke makes a Lanmeter that has what they call a "switch wizard" that's supposed to
allow you to see all the switched ports - and all for the low, low price of a small
car!

Where do you put a sniffer on a swithed LAN? I am trying to capture what is
happening on a LAN but i can no see all activity if I put the sniffer on a
port on a switch.
Any suggestion?
