We run CP 4.1 on Solaris. I have looked at Linux, but if I remember right, it runs/is certified on RedHat 6.5. The Solaris version is certified on Solaris 7. We had a number of problems running enforcement modules on Solaris 8. By inference, this would mean that running FW-1 on RH 7 would be a mistake. On Solaris 7 it is a very stable beast. Several resellers and other "knowledgable" people have indicated that the NT version is better at encryption/decryption. On digging deeper, I was told that the INTEL CISC processor performs better in high volume 3DES encryption environments than the SUN RISC processor. I would also infer that LINUX (running on INTEL) would suffer from an equivalent performance improvement as well. I am currently looking at possibly putting i several firewall-1 boxes and am debating between useing Linux and Solaris (and yes I have considered the Nokia boxes, but right now they are looking like a distant third) David Lang - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.] - [To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with "unsubscribe firewalls" in the body of the message.]
