The way Microsoft recommends to block access is using users groups with the
right permissions.
You may create a group called Dial-Up Users in your domain and within your
winsock proxy service (or Webproxy service)assing permission only to this
group.
The MSProxy, because it philosofy does not allow to block from IP Address,
except if they belong to the External network (untrusted network, Internet).
If you want to block for IP Address in NT4 you will have to use more
advanced products as for example Gaunlet 5.0.
hope this help
bye

Asunto: denying access by ip
Dear all,
I would like to ask if there's a way i can block users from accessing a
certain proxy lets say 192.154.1.18 by ip address. We're using IIS 4/Win
NT4. This proxy is being used by our dial-up users, I tried to limit the
access by users or groups but it is not possible. Therefore it can be used
by those who know the proxy address.
Thank you
