I need a work,but my boss say to me,"If you can't config and manage the
firewall-1,I think you will loss your job".
So I get a copy of FW-1 from my friend,I just want to learn it in my
home,but I can't successfully installed FW-1 4.1 on my computer.
My compute is a win2000 server,NIC device is "Realtek RTL8139(A) PCI Fast
Ethernet Card".
I finish First time installation and reboot computer,some errors find in the
Event Log:
FW1: FW: Failed to Copy NdisWanIp to FW1_NdisWanIp
FW1: RtlQueryResidtryValues for NdisWanIp failed (0xc-->
FW1: FwDriverEntryMac: Failed to configure Adapter (S-->
FireWall-1: Unable to open '\Device\FW1'
install: Operation failed
FW1SVC: Failed to install module
(but FireWall-1 Management Server is running )
.....
I use Regedt32 to edit this key:

I reboot computer,the error related to "NdisWanIp" is clear,but the error
"Unable to open '\Device\FW1'" still exist.
before now,I used Packet driver,I can remember that the Packet driver's
registry key like this:
Bind: \Device\{B6DA6BEE-93C3-4368-8755-C2D5D8BB3203}
Export: \Device\Packet_{B6DA6BEE-93C3-4368-8755-C2D5D8BB3203}
I find this key in the registry of Fw-1:

Bind: \Device\FW1_{B6DA6BEE-93C3-4368-8755-C2D5D8BB3203}

I don't understand that which device FW-1 bind?
what is the different of '\Device\FW1' and
'\Device\FW1_{B6DA6BEE-93C3-4368-8755-C2D5D8BB3203} '?
However,I can't make it ok.I reinstall FW-1 many times and reinstall win2000
system 18 times,oh,I'm too tired,I'll be crazy.
My friend just successfully installed FW-1 on WINNT4,he have not test on
win2000 system,and someone tell me "you need to install the SP2".
I think,if you install FW-1 on a name brand computer(like HP) follow the
"GettingStarted" book,that will be easy,because the firewall can automatic
bind the NIC device.The NIC device name is "\Device\HPTX0" (maybe,I can't
remember) in the system,but my Realtek RTL8139 Card be call
"\Device\{B6DA6BEE-93C3-4368-8755-C2D5D8BB3203}".
Guru,is the problem related to my Realtek RTL8139 Card or Sp2?
by the way,I just have a copy of FW-1,I haven't password to download the sp2
from the checkpoint website.Is here another way to download it?
All FW-1 guru,please help me!!!
