This is not a CP problem, but more a Solaris one...

Maybe you don't have sufficient rights or you $PATH can't find gcc
during the compile process...

Maybe some logs or error messages would help in
solving your problem

Ans if your are compiling it on solaris you first have to install
zlib and Openssl before you can compile openssh....

Maybe this is the same for ssh (I don't have experience with it
so I don't know that for sure).
