Yes you can back up the config. Admin > settings save
You can get real time packet info from the command
line using snoop yes snoop.. the output does not go
to the screen, you have to capture then dump the
buffer.
The policies are stored on nvram. You can save
policies and move them to other machines.
The guis just implement the commands that would be
used on the command line. The command line can do
everything the gui can plus more. You can update the
software, ping, traceroute and snoop.
