Scalability is another issue to use a software-based solution:
If you need more resoruces to handle higher traffic: add more memory, more
processor, faster NIC's and more disk to the same machine, or... jut put another
machine and let them to handle the traffic using a load-balancing solution.
FullCluster can do this with FireWall-1, but there are also another products
(both hardware and software) doing the same. Take a look at the www.opsec.com
web page.
