The stuff that is dynamically built is kept in a file called initial. You
may have to search for it. I have modified it before for password recovery.

Subject: FireWall-1 logs

I am new to CheckPoint FireWall-1 (previosuly PIX) and now run several
FireWall-1 / Nokia IP440s.

I do not have a remote management station to collect the logs, and do not
really want them in the CheckPoint format, so I have written a script to
run the "fw log" command and pipe the output to "logger". IPSO/Voyager
allows me to customise the system to specify a remote syslog daemon. This
way I can route the logs, at time intervals, to the syslog daemon.
This is a preferred option as I already do this with the PIX environment
and wish to consolidate the logs for all.
The script performs fine when manually executed, but although the script
itself runs ok under "cron", the "fw log" commands seem to get completely
ignored.

Can anyone shed any light on this please ?

ALSO, in order to automate this I was planning to add a line to "crontab"
but this is dynamically built on each re-boot. Is there a way around this,
or does anyone know of a better method ?
