Hi All, I recently encountered some strangeness with establishing a telnet session through a Nokia/FW-1 (FW-1 v4.1 SP2 on IPSO 3.2.1). Packet traces showed that the FW was dropping the telnet commands from the client to the server, so ECHO and GO AHEAD settings were failing to be negotiated. This resulted in the telnet session apparently hanging open on the client side, but with nothing ever being displayed. Data was passed however, and hitting return 3 times killed the session (as is standard for 3 bad passwds at a Cicso login). In this instance, the client was a W2k command-line telnet session and the server was a Cisco Local Director. A simple fwstop;fwstart fixed the problem, but I am concerned that it apparently happened without cause and may happen again. Has anyone else come across this before? Thanks and regards, Sam. _______________________________________________ Firewalls mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.gnac.net/mailman/listinfo/firewalls
