By all means do your firewall testing but in the environment you are suggesting don't forget the application server testing, the database testing, the switch and other LAN components testing, WAN and router testing, etc. etc.  Also consider, although you probably have already, how you might isolate a suspect performance problem when a real-time problem comes up.  After all, you want to be able to isolate the firewall as well as blame it.  Actually there will probably be plenty others ready to do the latter for you. :)   Loren Wagner ----- Original Message ----- From: Johnston Mark To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 10:47 AM Subject: Performance testing Hi all,   I have an appliance firewall which I would like to do some load testing against.
