I'd say this is overkill for budget justification. One does not require a
full IDS sensor on the outside for this, a decent tcpdump trace for a
short period of time with a number of posted advisories should satisfy the
need, especially now with the country's focus upon security measures and
the congressional pushes to perhaps 'reward' companies for making the
proper investments in security equipment will most likely make those buget
justifications a tad easier. The care and feeding of an outside sensor
for this though <shakes head> overkill...
