Greetings- We have a client who needs to upgrade their firewall. As clients have been known to do, they challenged us to justify our recommendation with "real" numbers, "Why do we need 2 million or even 500,000 sessions".
It would be nice to find a typical statistical user description that says something like, The "average" user loads Y web-page that starts X http sessions and downloads Y many mp3's that are Z MB's, Sends Q emails that are P Kb in size, etc. Merit (www.merit.edu) said they don't have those kinds of stats. I have found some interesting numbers at http://www.caida.org/outreach/papers/AIX0005/, but does anybody else have different info, that they would share, that would put average quantities to the average packet size. Thanks rb- __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Listen to your Yahoo!
