However, Comcast has not recently been enforcing their anti-VPN
policy towards home users (at least w.r.t. PPTP in my area).

Of course this may all change as :

1.      @Home is going away sometime soon (e.g. Feb) and they
        are the current ISP for Comcast cable customers.

2.      Comcast is supposed (according to news stories yesterday)
        to purchase a spun-off ATT Broadband -- becoming ATT Comcast
        or some such.
