I think Altavista used to provide AXP-based firewalls, but I doubt it's
still an option. Outside of changing OS' (Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD and NetBSD
all have AXP ports- though if it's an EISA system with the Mylex RAID
stuff based off the DAC960[1], only NetBSD has driver support and that's
listed as "untested") and using freeware tools or the firewall toolkit, you're
probably out of luck.

NT on the Alpha is dead- so I would seriously consider changing the OS.
I'm not aware of any OSF/1 (or whatever they're calling it today- oh
Tru64) firewalls, or any VMS based firewalls- so that leaves you with the
traditional *BSD or Linux packet filtering, the various open-source
proxies and the TIS firewall toolkit (though I haven't tried an AXP
compile of the fwtk.)

If you're into Linux, I recommend Debian as the best distro for an AXP
machine[2].

[1] If it's a Sable or GammaSable it'll have this as well as potentially
another widely recognized SCSI card. I'm not sure about the rest of the
line.
[1a] It's because it needs an EISA backend, the Free- Open- and Linux
DAC960 stuff is all PCI.
[2] They seem to be actively supporting AXP, I'm not sure anyone else is,
though I admit to not looking at SuSE for a while.
