Hi all, I'm running a Red Hat linux 7.2 with kernel 2.4.9-13 and initscripts-6.43-1. When I issue the "netstat -i" command I see the following output: Kernel Interface table Iface MTU Met RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg eth0 1500 0 593 0 0 0 877 0 0 0 BMRU eth0: 1500 0 - no statistics available - BMRU eth0: 1500 0 - no statistics available - BMRU eth1 1500 0 896 0 0 1 573 0 0 0 BMRU lo 16436 0 8 0 0 0 8 0 0 0 LRU In the column "Flag" I have the flag "M" which means "promicuous mode" as I read in some documentations. Why is my interfaces starting up in promiscuous mode. Which are the implications? How can I stop it?
