What mail protocol(s) do you use: SMTP, POP or maybe MSX-RPCs (the
latter will be a problem).
If you use SonicWall in NAT mode make sure you set 1:1 NAT so external
servers can connect to the MSX.
Test: can external servers ping your MSX? If not, routing and/or NAT are
wrong, even if you can get out...
