I've done it on two subnets separated by a very similar setup (eth1 =
192.168.0.0, eth2 = 192.168.1.0).  On machines that I want to print from I
set up an LMHOSTS file... very easy.

It's pretty well documented in LMHOSTS.SAM.

This is all assuming you're running a Windows environment.  If you are, and
you're running in a domain, why not do this from a logon script?  Copy the
LMHOSTS file to the machines when they login.

If your network is large, go with a WINS server.  LMHOSTS will get out of
hand on a larger network.
