Hi list,

I am going to Upgrade a FW-1 4.0 which I recently patched to SP8 to 4.1 with
SP5

I only have a 4.1.2 3DES CD ready and the system is a NT4.0 SP6 machine with
3 interfaces, standalone installation with enforcement, management AND
client on the same machine (dont ask me why, it has NOT been in my
responsibilty.. ;-) ).

At www.phoneboy.com they simply state, that executing the "install" on the
fw stop-ed
machine will do, but they also say there might be some problems.

My question(s)
What can/must I do to get smoothest migration (additional to saving the
$fwdir\conf files)?
Which files do I have to copy and what do I have to pay attention to (how
the heck do I?)
when trying to use the old objects and rulebase??

Are there any additional caveats? A short description would make me feel
more comfortable

( I just learned that attending the NG courses and beeing CCSA NG is by FAR
not enough... :-( )

Thanks for your highly appreciated input...

BTW, if there are any additional console entrys except fw putlic necessary
please write them down, I dont want to mess that it up @ console ;-))

Sebastian
