I got an extranet project dumped in my lap and I'm wondering if any of you gurus could either give me some design tips or point me to some good resources. The details (of which I haven't been given many - go figure) are that there will be a web server in the DMZ running a web app using an Oracle database as the back end. The web app needs to access to an internal Oracle database. I'm wondering what's the best way to set this up? My first thought was to replicate the database to the DMZ. Another thought was reverse proxy but I've never done that and I'm wondering how secure that is. The firewall is FW1 4.1 SP5 and I also have an internal BorderManager 3.6. Most likely the web app will be done with MS ASP on W2K (no choice). Thanks!
