Dear FIS colleagues, To propose the possible situations for the emergence of new properties (like information and functions), in where the meaning here is nothing but a condition of simple physical events such that the 'edge of chaos' condition is not destroyed; it is not incompatible with the current uses of information, I think.
I cant see the appropriateness to reinsert the teleological language. Moreover, it seems to me that with these reinsertions we could lose, at certain degrees, the rational and scientific enterprise. Also, indirectly it is given material for the intelligent-design people.
