I'm having difficulty changing a
crontab editor to vim, I've tried both
$EDITOR and $VISUAL as both /usr/bin/vim
and just vim. I've also made a symlink
/etc/alternatives/editor -> /usr/bin/vim
In bash this changes the editor as I'd
expect
$ export EDITOR=/usr/bin/vim
but in fish I still get nano even after
this (I've checked that the variable is
set correctly)
$ set -U EDITOR /usr/bin/vim
It's an ubuntu box if that makes any
difference.
