A downside of FIX 4.1 is that it was released in April 1998, i.e. it is over 12 
years old now. It only has 211 tags compared to the more than 1600 available 
with FIX 5.0 SP2, i.e. there are now 8 times as many tags as there were way 
back then.

You might encounter numerous gaps in what you need to cover that have been 
closed with versions higher than 4.1. This depends on your scope and the gap 
analysis I recommend that you undertake.
