Finne has learned a new trick! He now wants to urinate in the arena before a ride rather than wait until after the ride. He used to wait until after I mounted and then stop at several locations to try and find the right one. He quickly learned that mom would let him stop and stand quite a few times before he had to do any work. I do believe he was working me as the behavior just escalated and he wanted to stop and stand at every corner. Now when we enter the arena, I walk him to his spot, put the reins over his neck, turn around (he needs privacy!) and wait for the flow; on a good day he will drop a pile before we mount. After I mount, he will try to stop and take a break at his favorite spots before we do any work. Who is training whom? This is the only time I actually have to kick him to move. I am getting quicker at it so I think the behavior will be unlearned quickly, but a little slower than learned.
