Hi everybody,
this is Dagrun, currently in Norway for a fjord horse conference.
Thursday morning Norwegian time I'll be giving a presentation to
illustrate how most Norwegians see the Fjord horse (boring, slow, can
be found everywhere, stubborn, nothing special, farm and work horse
(and nothing else) and all these other negative opinions even I (!)
used to have about our wonderful creatures. Luckily I've changed!
I will mostly be telling stories, some including what went through
people's heads first time they saw a Fjord. We Norwegians grew up
with them all around so we don't have stories like this. Like Brigid,
who was mesmerized by them and thinking they looked like the horses
in cave paintings and then spent all night on the internet reading
about the breed. Or from Gayle Ware's website where you tell the
story about the first two fjords you saw, the impression they made
and how you were thinking they looked like Trojan horses!
I could use a couple extra quotes/stories, if anyone would like to
share. And of course, the list would enjoy your stories, too. I'd
like to hear things like:
What was your first impression of a Fjord?
How/where did you see it?
What was different from other horses?
What did you think they looked like?
How did you perceive their personality?
All input much appreciated!
Thanks guys
Dagrun
