There are pads which keep out ice so that it does not clump up in
hoofs. You could use a combination of shoes, pads, studs and " Pam " to also
keep
riding in severe winter months.
No snow here, and even the mountians that are usually covered in snow
by Thanksgiving are pretty bare. At higher elevations, there is some light
snow pack, but the skiers and ' boarders are complaining. COLD, though, and we
headed to Las Vegas for some National Finals Rodeo shopping and a Keith Urban
concert this week for an early x-mas present for our teenagers. People were
walking around with T-Shirts that said, " will TRADE husband/ wife for RODEO
tickets " or, will trade the above, but NOT the mule, QH for RODEO tickets !
Great FUN....and WOW, you should see the BLING BLING you can outfit your horse
in
right now ! Not to mention the 125,000 LQ Horse trailers that put to shame
most homes Ive ever lived in. Yikes......Jeff was even looking at those 9
passenger Freight haulers to pull it with. Had to drag him out of there with
all
the " guy " stuff. Forget about the horses, I could hit the road in one of
those
no problem !
Have to admit though that the NFR contestants we met wandering around were
pretty EASY on the eyes. Something for everyone I guess. <g> Good to be back
in normal life, with horses that do not wear 1,000 in rinestones and pink
saddles.
