What about having the vet put marbles in which will prevent the mare from coming into heat by tricking her body into thinking it is pregnant? Relatively cheap (our clinic charges $25 for the marbles and then the charge for vet to put them in which is as easy as an ultrasound and costs $25 also). That way you aren't having to fiddle with drugs and such and we find they work very well
